Connect your Google Ads account
Sign in with Google, choose the Google Ads account for your brand and let IntentBid create paused campaigns and read results every hour.
Connecting Google Ads is optional, but it's what lets IntentBid run search and image campaigns on your buyer questions, build company audiences and report results per account. Campaigns run in your own Google Ads account and Google bills you directly.
Before you start
- You need a Google Ads account with billing set up. If you don't have one, create it at ads.google.com.
- Sign in with the Google login that has access to that account. Being invited as a user of the Google Ads account works.
- In IntentBid you need to be an owner or admin.
- Add your website in IntentBid first. Each brand (website) has its own connection.
Connect step by step
- Open Connections and find the Google Ads (your account) card.
- Click Connect with Google.
- Sign in with the Google login that has access to your Google Ads, and allow access on Google's consent screen.
- You come back to Connections. If your login has one ad account, it's connected right away and you see Google Ads connected: [account name].
- If your login has several ad accounts, you see Google connected. Choose which Google Ads account to use. Pick the account under Google Ads account for [your brand] and click Use this account.
The list shows each account's name, customer ID (123-456-7890) and currency. Manager (MCC) accounts aren't listed, because campaigns can't run in them.
What IntentBid does in your account
- reads results every hour
- creates search and image campaigns from your buyer questions, always paused
- starts, pauses and changes budgets when you click those buttons in IntentBid
- creates company audiences when you ask it to (see Company audiences, ICP segments and lookalikes)
Nothing spends until you click Approve and launch on All campaigns.
Switch account, reconnect or disconnect
- Use this account: switches to a different ad account the same login can access.
- Reconnect Google Ads: signs in again, for example with another Google login or after you removed access in your Google account.
- Disconnect: removes the connection from IntentBid. Campaigns already in Google Ads stay there.
Allow audience uploads
Sending your own CRM contacts to Google (Customer Match) needs one extra permission. The first time you send contacts from Audiences, click Allow audience uploads in Google and accept. Company audiences and ICP segments don't need this step.
Troubleshooting
| Message | What it means and what to do |
|---|---|
| This login only has a Google Ads manager (MCC) account | Create or link a normal ad account under the manager account in Google Ads, then connect again. |
| Google connected, but this Google login has no Google Ads account | Create an account at ads.google.com, or sign in with the login that has access, and connect again. |
| Google did not give offline access | Remove IntentBid under your Google account's third-party access, then click Connect with Google again. |
| Google sign-in expired. Try again. | The sign-in took too long. Click Connect with Google again. |
| Only owners and admins can connect ad accounts | Ask an owner or admin to connect, or to change your role. |
| The Google Ads overview still suggests Connect Google Ads after you signed in | No ad account is chosen yet. In Connections, pick one and click Use this account. |
FAQ
Does IntentBid see my Google password?
No. You sign in on Google's own page. IntentBid only receives the access you approve there.
Can I connect the same Google Ads account to two brands?
Yes. It's best to keep one ad account per brand, though, so the results and companies don't mix.
Does IntentBid need the Google tag?
Search and image campaigns run without it. Company audiences need the Google tag on your site, so that visitors from identified companies can be added to the Google list.
