ChatGPT Ads Pixel Checker

Check whether the OpenAI Pixel is installed on your landing page or in your Tag Manager container, which events it sends, and the mistakes that lose conversions: placeholder IDs, duplicate installs, custom events you can't optimise, redirects that drop the click reference and a blocked OAI-AdsBot.

  • Free, no sign-up
  • Runs in your browser

We read the public page, its own scripts, its Tag Manager container and robots.txt. We don't fire events, store the page or send anything to OpenAI. Use the page your ads link to.

Need the basics first? How to install the OpenAI Pixel, Conversions API basics and deduplicating Pixel and API events.

Then test it for real

  1. Open a private window and click a test ad, or add ?oppref=test to your landing page URL.
  2. Accept cookies if your banner asks, then complete the action you track: a form, a sign-up, a booking.
  3. Check Event Quality in Ads Manager under Conversions. Events should appear within the hour.
  4. Look for warnings about duplicates or many conversions on one ad interaction.

Our checker reads code; only a real test confirms that OpenAI receives the events.

Questions

Straight answers.

Do I need the OpenAI Pixel to run ChatGPT ads?

Not for Clicks or Views campaigns. You need it, or the Conversions API, to measure conversions and to run Conversions campaigns, which optimise to one standard event.

Why does the checker say no Pixel when I installed it?

Usually because it loads only after cookie consent, through a tag manager other than Google Tag Manager, or on a different page. Our check doesn't click Accept. Test with a real click and Event Quality in Ads Manager.

Is it safe to enter my URL?

Yes. We read only public pages and your public Tag Manager container, return a report and keep nothing. The check is not affiliated with OpenAI.

Which events can be optimised?

Standard events such as lead_created, registration_completed, appointment_scheduled, trial_started, subscription_created and order_created. Custom events can be reported but not used for optimisation.
