Connect your ChatGPT Ads account
Create an API key in ChatGPT Ads Manager, paste it in Connections and IntentBid loads your campaigns and results every hour.
IntentBid runs ChatGPT campaigns in your own ChatGPT Ads account. You keep the account and the billing, and you pay OpenAI directly, with no markup from us. To connect, you give IntentBid an API key from ChatGPT Ads Manager. It takes about two minutes.
Before you start
- You need a ChatGPT Ads account. If you don't have one yet, sign up at ads.openai.com with your ChatGPT login and add billing.
- In IntentBid you need to be an owner or admin. Other roles don't see the key field.
- Add your website in IntentBid first. Connections are saved per brand (website).
Connect step by step
- Open ads.openai.com and sign in to ChatGPT Ads Manager.
- Go to Settings → API keys and click Create new key. Exact labels can change a little as OpenAI updates Ads Manager.
- Name the key
IntentBidso you can find it later. The account owner can create it, or a teammate the owner invited. - Copy the key straight away. Ads Manager shows it only once.
- In IntentBid, open Connections. Find the ChatGPT Ads (your account) card.
- Paste the key into API key and click Connect.
IntentBid checks the key right away and stores it encrypted. If the check passes, the card turns to connected and shows the ad account name and when it last synced. The message at the top says either Your campaigns and results are loaded or Results appear within an hour.
What IntentBid does with the key
Once you're connected, IntentBid:
- reads campaign results every hour
- creates campaigns, ad groups and ads in your account, always paused until you approve them in IntentBid
- shows each click as a company once the website script identifies the visitor

One key per ad account
One key works for one ad account. If you run several ChatGPT ad accounts, for example one per market or product, connect each one in its own brand in IntentBid.
Replace or remove the key
On the same card:
- Replace key: paste a new key and click it. Use this if you rotated or deleted the old key in Ads Manager.
- Disconnect: removes the key from IntentBid. Your campaigns stay in your ChatGPT Ads account and keep running, or stay paused, exactly as they are.
Troubleshooting

| ChatGPT Ads did not accept this key | Check that you copied all of it and that the key wasn't deleted in Ads Manager. If you've lost it, create a new key. |

| Only owners and admins can connect accounts | Ask an owner or admin of your IntentBid workspace to connect, or to change your role. |
| Add your website first | Finish adding your website, then come back to Connections and click Connect again. |
FAQ
Does IntentBid charge for ChatGPT ad spend?
No. OpenAI bills you directly in your ChatGPT Ads account. IntentBid doesn't add a markup.
Can IntentBid launch ads without my approval?
No. Everything IntentBid creates arrives paused. Only an approval in IntentBid, or a change you make yourself in Ads Manager, starts spend.
Will my existing campaigns show up?
Yes. Campaigns already in the account are loaded with the first sync and are updated every hour after that.
