Judged fairly
Only ads with enough impressions (1,500 by default) are judged, so a new ad gets a chance.
Bidding agent
LinkedIn keeps serving an ad long after it is clear it is losing to the others in the campaign. The bidding agent checks every ad once a day against the rest of its campaign. When an ad has had enough impressions to judge and its click-through rate is far under the campaign median, the agent lists it for you or pauses it.

Only ads with enough impressions (1,500 by default) are judged, so a new ad gets a chance.
CTR below half the campaign median by default: the bar moves with your audience, not a generic benchmark.
Suggest lists the ads; auto pauses up to 3 per run by default. Off is always one click away.
The last active ad of a campaign is never paused, and every action is logged with the reason.
| Setting | Default | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Mode | Suggest | Off, suggest (list only) or auto (pause) |
| Minimum impressions | 1,500 | An ad is judged only after this many impressions |
| CTR threshold | 50% of the campaign median | An ad under half the median CTR of its campaign is weak |
| Ads per run | 3 | At most this many ads are paused per daily run |
You can change every setting. The agent only pauses ads; it never edits bids, budgets or targeting, and it never creates anything.
For ABM sponsored content, CTR is the fastest signal LinkedIn gives you: clicks arrive the same day, while company-level results arrive 12–24 hours late and conversions are rare. It is not perfect. An ad built for awareness at tier 1 accounts may have a low CTR and still be doing its job, so keep those campaigns in suggest mode or off. Read the agent's log next to account engagement and the pixel's visits before you trust a pattern.

No. Despite the name, it works on ads, not bids: it pauses or lists ads that lose clearly to the rest of their campaign. Bids and budgets stay as you set them.
Once a day, after the LinkedIn data for the previous day has come in.
Nothing happens. The agent never pauses the last active ad of a campaign, so a campaign never stops because of it.
